The "HOT SPACE Tour" European leg, which is said to be "only a famous performance". And the Netherlands, which is known as Europe's No. 1 parent QUEEN country. Introducing a masterpiece live album that has become a masterpiece by mixing two good points.

It was "April 25, 1982 Leiden performance" that was imbued with such a work. It is the excellent audience recording. "Europe in 1982 is special" ... If you can pay attention to this article, you may be familiar with it on many live albums. "HOT SPACE" itself was the biggest problem in QUEEN history, but Freddie exploded on the tour. Not only was it a greasy climax as a vocalist, but with the support keyboardist, the degree of freedom has increased dramatically. It became possible to run around from one end of the stage to the other and perform, and there were a series of explosive tension shows where you could fully enjoy the feeling of openness. Why was only Europe special in such a "HOT SPACE Tour"? In order to explain the meaning again, let's first look back on the schedule at that time.

<< March "HOT SPACE" completed >>
・ April 9-May 22: Europe (26 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
《May 21st release of “HOT SPACE”》
・ May 29-June 5: UK (4 performances) ← * Official QUEEN ON FIRE (June 5th, Milton Keynes Bowl)
・ July 21-September 15: North America (33 performances)
・ October 19th-November 3rd: Japan (6 performances)

This is 1982 QUEEN. As you can see, the "Europe" leg is the beginning of the tour, where "HOT SPACE" has been completed but has not yet been released. Freddie was frustrated by the unpopularity of the album in the official video "QUEEN ON FIRE", but this work was before that. Moreover, it is also the first leg with support, and its openness is much stronger than in North America and Japan.

It was such "Europe in 1982", but the point is that the Leiden performance of this work is yet another "Netherlands". As I mentioned in "THE HAGUE 1974" that I introduced the other day, his country is actually Europe's number one parent QUEEN country. After all, all the albums after "SHEER HEART ATTACK" are in the top 10 of the national chart, and 9 works other than 3 have won the 1st place on the chart. Even if the three works that missed the first place, "JAZZ" is the third place / "FLASH GORDON" is the seventh place / "A KIND OF MAGIC" is the second place, which is ridiculously popular. Although Japan and South America are also known by their parents QUEEN, the Netherlands is the only country in the world that does not shake so thoroughly.

The show is always fulfilling only in such a hugely popular Netherlands. Even among collectors, "QUEEN's Dutch products" are half-branded. Of course, we also archive Dutch performances with many masterpieces. It's a good opportunity, so let's organize the lineup here.

● 1974 (1 performance)
・ December 8 "THE HAGUE 1974"
● 1977 (1 performance) / 1978 (2 performances) / 1979 (2 performances)
● 1980 (1 performance)
・ November 27, "LEIDEN 1980"
● 1982 (2 performances)
・ April 25: Leiden performance ← ★ This work ★
● 1984 (1 performance)
・ September 20 "LEIDEN 1984"
● 1986 (3 performances)
・ June 11 "LEIDEN 1986 1ST NIGHT"

… And it looks like this. Unfortunately, the growth period of the late 70's is still unknown, but you can experience all the tours during the full period of the 80's. In this work, you can experience the 1982 stage known as the climax.

The introduction has become quite long. This work, which recorded such a delicious show, has a delicious sound. Of course, it is in the category of vintage audience, but the sound that does not make you feel dubbing marks is fresh, and the core that reaches straight is strong from Tsu. In particular, Freddy's vocals are clearly understood up to each word of the lyrics, and Brian's guitar is also vivid at the level of picking nuances. In fact, it's sometimes an incomplete master that lacks the last "We Will Rock You," "We Are The Champions," and "God Save The Queen," but it's a complete that has been on the market before. The sound is better than the version (By the way, there is a theory that the last 3 songs of the complete version master will be performed separately. In this work, only the beauty master passed, and I did not dare to make up for it already).

The show drawn with such a beautiful clear sound is an enthusiastic performance because it is the Netherlands supported by tremendous support. The song selection of the set is based on "QUEEN ON FIRE", so I will omit the analysis, but the song order is actually fresh. The opening is especially fresh. Although it is familiar to us that the snow falls into "We Will Rock You (Fast)" after starting with "The Hero", "Tie Your Mother Down" pops out instead of "We Will Rock You". As a matter of fact, in "Europe in 1982", I also tried to start with "Action This Day" and "Sheer Heart Attack", and the spirit of experimentation was rich. Among them, "Tie Your Mother Down" is also a standard flow that has been adopted several times, and you can enjoy both freshness and mellowness.

Along with Japan and South America ... No, maybe the Netherlands who loved QUEEN more than that. This work is a valuable live album where you can experience the climax of QUEEN in such a place. If this sound had been recorded until the end, it would have been a permanent preservation press ... Aside from such complaints, the more you dig deeper and the more you listen, the more you will be dizzy with its importance and wonderful show. Please enjoy it to your heart's content.

★ Excellent audience recording of "April 25, 1982 Leiden performance". The sound that does not make you feel dubbing marks is fresh, and the core that reaches straight is also strong from Tsu. In particular, Freddy's vocals are clearly understood word by word in the lyrics, and Brian's guitar is also a vivid recording at the level of picking nuances. Unfortunately, the last two songs were missed, but the performance was Tokuno. After all, speaking of Europe on the HOT SPACE Tour, it is a famous climax leg that "there is only a famous performance", and the site is the Netherlands, the most pro-QUEEN country in Europe. This is a hidden treasure album where you can experience a masterpiece that can't get worse with a fresh sound.

Above, all 26 performances. As you can see, most of the shows have excellent recordings, and we have been collecting the best masters every day in the best condition. Under such circumstances, the Leiden performance of this work is the second performance in the early stages. Three performances were held at the same venue, and it was the first day of the concert.

This work that recorded such a show is a clear and realistic audience recording. The most wonderful thing is the experience of the full show. Some recordings are known on this day, some of which lack “Tie Your Mother Down” and some of which the encore is missing, but this work is a complete recording and the sound is “this day”. What is known as the “best”. It is undeniable that there is a little distance, but the feeling of air is clear whether the master is fresh, the stability without distortion and twist is wonderful, and the performance and singing voice jump straight in. Freddie is on fire as the biggest tour in QUEEN history has just begun, and you can feel the tension.
Furthermore, the point of this work is the heat of the audience. Although he is not the type who suffers from the screaming of the upcoming voice, he has picked up the enthusiasm of the scene widely, and the excitement is amazing. Needless to say, Freddie of “THE MAGIC TOUR” had a divine charisma, not to mention Wembley Stadium, but the technique of manipulating a large crowd at will is clear. The whole story is great, but especially symbolic after “Tie Your Mother Down”. It’s a song that is already exciting, but after that, it was fueled by the barking MC, and a soccer hymn “Ore! Ooore !!” That is one of the most famous scenes of “THE MAGIC TOUR” in the “Tavaszi Szel Vizet Araszt” performance in Budapest.

Of course, it doesn’t end just in the beginning. The show that burned up all at once was swelled by Freddie, who was in great shape, and rushed to the highlights. And the final stage is also a big point. This tour consists of a new song “Friends Will Be Friends” sandwiched between “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions”, and that “Friends Will Be Friends” premiered on this day. Moreover, unlike the later shows, it will be played in the full version for about 4 minutes. The short version is tighter in terms of flow because it is changed to be shorter, but this long performance is only for Leiden 2 performance. You can experience such a valuable version in the field with wonderful sound. Then, the huge spectacle of “We Are The Champions” and the big circle of “God Save The Queen” are greeted when the excitement of “Friends Will Be Friends” that no one in the field expected. What a moving thing …

The glorious “THE MAGIC TOUR” was not only the largest scale, but also had more famous performances than usual in various places. It is a live album where you can experience the start dash in the early stages. Not only soccer hymns and the extremely rare “Friends Will Be Friends”, which are recorded by the audience once in a while, but also Freddie and the venue from the beginning to the ending, a masterpiece that stands in the middle of a burning masterpiece. One performance One performance is different, and the glorious scene is too fun because it is “THE MAGIC TOUR”. That’s why audience recording is irresistible … One that makes me feel that kind of emotion and never stops. Please enjoy it carefully.
